What dosage of injectable Semaglutide will I be taking?

Semaglutide is a prescription weight-management medication taken once weekly. It is taken on the same day each week, any time of day, with or without food.
Your doctor will ultimately decide what is right for you, however, our standard protocol with injectable Semaglutide for many new patients is:
- 0.25mg/week for the first 4 weeks
- 0.5 mg/week for the next 8 weeks
- Dosage will include Ondanestron (brand name Zofran®)
Please refer to your specific dosage on your prescription.
Your individualized dose and duration of therapy will be based on both weight loss and medical goals discussed with your physician. Typically, you will stay on the same dose as long as you are losing weight at that dosage.

Reviewing Your Dosage and Medication Information
Included in your package is a guide outlining your specific dosage, the schedule you should follow, and when to increase the dose as directed by your doctor. Before preparing your medication, carefully read through this information to understand your dosing schedule.
Your starting dose will be a low amount, which allows your body to adjust to the medication. Be patient with this process and do not try to increase your dose on your own. Follow the dosing schedule your doctor has prescribed, and inject your medication only once per week (or as otherwise directed).
Being informed about your dosing schedule is essential for getting the most benefit from your medication.
Units vs mg vs mL
The syringes included in your shipment are measured in units and increase by increments of 10 units.
Your prescription will include the number of units you are supposed to take each week and for how many weeks.
Example Prescription (Please refer to your prescription for your specific dosage instructions)
S1/S2/S3 (Month 1-3), Rx Plus: Semaglutide compound 2.5mg/ml (2ml vial)
Rx Plus Solutions LLC 2 Milliliter Refills: 0 Supply: 84 Days
Compound: Semaglutide compound 2.5mg/ml (2mL vial)
Directions: Inject 0.25mg (10 units) under the skin once weekly for 4 weeks. Then inject 0.5mg (20 units) under the skin once weekly for 8 weeks.
So the most important part to pay attention to is the number of units. 1mL (milliliter) = 100 units, so a 2mL vial contains 200 units, a 3mL vial contains 300 units, and so on.
Using the example prescription above, 10 units for 4 weeks (40 units) plus 20 units for 8 weeks (160 units) is a total of 200 units, and it's a 2mL vial, which is 200 units, so there is enough medication to follow the prescribed dosing schedule.
If there is any excess medication after you have completed your prescribed dosing schedule, it should be discarded.
